The Home Tab
The Home tab is the main recording interface. It is where you see your recording status and the result of your last transcription.
Hotkey Hint
At the top of the Home tab, SpokenCode displays the currently configured hotkey so you always know what key combination to press to start recording.
Record Button
A large microphone button sits in the center of the Home tab.
- Click it to start recording
- While recording, the button changes to a stop icon — click it again to finish
- After you stop, SpokenCode processes the audio and types the result into your focused application
You don't need to click the button every time. Use the global hotkey from any application — SpokenCode works in the background without you ever switching windows.
Recording Status
Below the record button, a status indicator shows what SpokenCode is currently doing:
| Status | Meaning |
|---|---|
| Ready to record | Idle — waiting for you to press the hotkey or click the button |
| Recording… | Actively capturing your voice (shown with a pulsing animation) |
| Processing… | Transcribing the audio and, in Snippet Mode, generating the AI output |
Last Transcription
After each recording, the Last Transcription panel shows the text that was generated and typed into your application.
- A copy-to-clipboard button appears next to the panel title once text is available
- The text shown is exactly what was typed into your focused app
In Transcription Mode, this is your spoken words as plain text. In Snippet Mode, this is the AI-generated code or command — not your original spoken sentence.
